FLORA OF VIETNAM

Phalaenopsis wilsonii Rolfe

N. Vietnam, Hoa Binh prov., Mai Chau distr., Hang Kia municipality, near Pa Khong village, (20є44'40''N, 104є52'32''E). Primary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest with Pinus kwangtungensis along tops of highly eroded remnant karst limestone ridge at elev. 1300-1440 m a.s.l. Epiphyte. Occasional small leaves about 2 cm lg and 1 cm wide, deep green above, light violet below. Flowers: tepals light violet, lip deep violet, column light with whitish stripes, sidelobes violet with yellow. Locally common. Anther yellow.
