Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., A Luoi Distr., Huong Nguyen Municipality, in vicinities of Tra Ve forest protection station, around point 16°15'27''N, 107°26'15''E at elevation about 80-100 m a.s.l. Secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest on hill slopes composed with shale. Tree up to 20 m tall along rocky stream valley. Flowers white, sepals with reddish-pink stripes. Not common.
