N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Ha Lang, municipality An Lac, vicinities of Phia Deng village (N 22ø43' E 106ø36'), about 36 km to E
from Cao Bang town. Primary open coniferous forest (with Keteleeria fortunei) along tops of remnant limestone ridge at 600 m alt. Tree up
to 4 m hg. Very common. Usual codominante of 2 primary forest stratum. Codominante of secondary forest formations (especially after fire).
