1500 m to above 1650; along ridge just N
& W of camp. In semi-closed, evergreen
and semi-decidous forest, in open
undergrowth with dead bamboo (flowered
1999) to bamboo zone to wetter lower
montane forest; near trapline (1700 m);
some rocky outcrops; soil: deep humus,
and rocks.
