Pinus kwangtungensis

N.Vietnam, Bac Kan Prov., Cho Don Distr., Ban Thi Municipality, village Phia Khao, around point 22º16'58''N, 105º31'20''E at elevation 800-900 m a.s.l. (Lung Chang and Lung Li mountains). Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed and coniferous (with Pinus kwangtungensis) forest on very steep slopes and cliffs along tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like stratified limestone. Tree 10-15 m tall. Occasional mono-dominant of coniferous forest (first stratum), particularly on tops of ridge at elevations 900-1000 m a.s.l.
