Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, to the SW of Na Nheo village (in the vicinity of point 21ø57'34''N, 104ø13'49''E). Primary evergreen broad-leaved wet montane forest with Fokienia hodginsii on steep granite and quartzite slopes of SW exposition at elev. 1800-1900 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb on high open vertical granite/quartzite mossy cliff of E exposition covered with pillows of Sphagnum. Flowers regularly pink, lip white, pinkish with yellow, brown or purple spots. Sometimes flowers white or deep pink-purple. Lip sometimes with deep yellow center. Rare, but occasionally in very large colonies.
