Hanoi Capital Region, Ba Vi National Park, old humid secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep mountain slopes composed by granite and shale at elevation of 700-850 m a.s.l. Tree to 20 m tall and 40 cm DBH. Fruits globular to 3 cm in diameter, dull gray brownish. Not common.
