Hanoi Capital Region, Ba Vi National Park, humid mossy primary and secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep mountain slopes composed by solid shale at elevation of 1100-1300 m a.s.l. along trail to peak of 1296 m. Shrub or small treelet to 1.5 m tall on open rocky steep slope. Fruits orange red to red. Not common.
