Hanoi Capital Region, Ba Vi National Park, old humid secondary and remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep mountain slopes composed by shale at elevation of about 1000 m a.s.l. Treelet about 5-6 m tall on shady slope. Young fruits red. Not common.
