Quang Binh Province, Le Thuy District, Kim Thuy Municipality. Secondary and primary fractionally logged evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep hill slopes composed by gray and yellow solid marble-like limestone at elevation about 200–250 m a.s.l. around point 16º59.5 N 106º38.2 E.

Terrestrial creeping herb with thick plagiotropic or ascending rhizome with many short stilt roots on steep shady stream slope. Leaves with long petiole and elliptic blade. Peduncle erect, bent down at apex. Flowers nutant, obovoid, container shaped, with 6 short, triangular, recurved lobes and small opening, dull pale greenish, yellowish or pinkish outside, pink purple inside, stamens yellow. Locally common.
