Garcinia fragrans Elmer ex Merr.,

Bac Kan Province, Ba Be District, Cao Thuong Community, Ba Be National Park. Primary and old secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes composed by white crystalline marble-like highly eroded limestone around point 22º27’20’’N 105º36’06’E at elevation of about 750 m a.s.l.

Tree to 25 m tall and to 0.6 m in diameter, with very hard timber. Young leaves dull purple brown, fruits green. Not rare.
