Northern Vietnam, Tuyen Quang Province, Lam Binh District, Thuong Lam Commune, Na Toong Village, around point 22°29'N, 105°19'E, 300 m a.s.l., primary highly degraded broad-leaved evergreen forest at edge of grazing area at base of very steep slopes of limestone mountains, lithophytic herb growing with Begonia nahangensis, locally rare/grazed, found close to other species of Aspidistra growing terrestrially, 7 December 2017, Bleddyn Wynn-Jones, BWJ 15606.
