Bac Kan Prov., Ba Be Distr., Ba Be National Park, on mountains near headquarter. Secondary broad-leaved dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of remnant mountains composed by solid marble-like crystalline limestone at elevation about 300 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb with thick semi-woody creeping underground rhizome in shady places. Leaves very dark green, to almost black, fleshy, coriaceous. Locally common.
