N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Du Gia, E slopes of Phu Tha Ca mountain system at 1300-1500 m elev. (N 23ø56' E 105ø13'). Primary evergreen broadleaved very wet mountain forest on shale very steep slopes. Chlorophylless saprophyte with erect white stems up to 20 cm hg in shady steep rocky shale-quartzite slopes. Flowers odorless: sepals white, with violet tint; petals white; lip with deep-purple marks inside along median part, side lobes white, with deep-purple numerous spots, outside lip white; column white; anther light yellowish; ovary white with violet tint. Not rare.
