Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, elevation from Na Nheo village to the SW from 680 to 1780 m a.s.l. (from point 21ш59'24''N, 104ш16'23''E to point 21ш58'11''N, 104ш14'02''E). Secondary evergreen open broad-leaved submontane forest with bamboo on steep granite and quartzite slopes at elev. 1300 m a.s.l. Large terrestrial sedge on steep slope. Very common.
