Ninh Binh Province, Cuc Phuong National Park, 20°15'N 105°42'E, 160 m, evergreen forest on undulating ground prone to flooding, in a sticky clay-like soil surrounded by limestone outcrops, a species with conspicuously vertical rhizomes covered in yellowish-gray fiber, supported by many long stilt-like roots, some plants bearing green fruit at the base of the terminal leafy shoots, growing with Ophiopogon and Peliosanthes species, as well as several other species of Aspidistra including A. superba, both growing on the higher parts of the undulation, 20.01.2018, Bleddyn Wynn-Jones, BWJ 15705.
