Epigeneium amplum (Lindl.) Summerhayes

N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Meo Vac distr., vicinities of Meo Vac town (N 23°10′ E 105°24′), 48.2 km to 36° of Ha Giang city. Remnants of primary open mossy wet mixed forests with Pseudotsuga brevifolia along tops of limestone karst remnant ridge at elev. 1200-1250 m a.s.l. Creeping lithophytic vine 0.5 m lg on open mossy rocks. Flowers: tepals ochre-yellow, lip deep violet, nearly black. Abundant.
