Lao Cai prov., Sa Pa distr., O Quy Ho commune, on the trail to Ban Khoang, around point from N22.38381º E103.78166º, elev. 1800-1900 m a.s.l., remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved humid forest on granite mountain.
Tree 10-15 m tall, fruits almost black violet
