FLORA OF VIETNAM Fagaceae Lithocarpus balansae (Drake) A.Camus Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Tung Vai Commune, Kho My Village, around point 23.08460ºN 104.88377ºE steep rocky slopes composed with highly eroded limestone at elevation 1000–1250 m a.s.l. Primary evergreen broad-leaved very humid forest. Tree to 20-25 m tall. Fruits pale gray-brownish to 5 cm in diameter, seeds 2-3 cm in diameter, edible, but bitter. Common. 6 October 2019, L.
