Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by shaly limestone at elev. 1100-1200 m a.s.l. Erect terrestrial herb or herbaceous vine to 3 m long on shady rocky slope. Not rare. Widely collected for sale as a medicinal plant of oriental medicine.
