N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Dong Van distr., Ta Phin municipality, vicinities of Sa Tung Chu village (N 23º11' E 105º17'), 51.5 km to 38º of Ha Giang city. Remnants of primary mossy mixed and coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga brevifolia on tops of remnant limestone karst ridge at elev. 1300 m a.s.l. Lithophytic forb on very steep mossy open rocky slopes and cliffs. Flowers of typical coloration. Not common.
