on very steep rocky shady slope of river canyon along river. Not rare.

Dien Bien Prov., Muong Nhe Distr., Muong Nhe Natural Reserve, Sin Thau Municipality, Ta Mieu Village around point about N 22º24’02’’ E 102º08’38”. Old humid secondary evergreen broad-leaved montane forest of very steep mountain slopes composed with sandstone at elevations 1800–1850 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on mossy tree on mountain top. Leaves almost red. Locally common.
