Pristine primary broadleaved and mixed (with Dacrycarpus imbricatus) evergreen forest along mountain ridge composed with shale at elev. about 1000 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb or undershrub to 0.5 m tall. Flowers white, sometimes with violet tint. Very common.

Semi-woody epiphytic vine to 10 m long on large trees in open place along stream. Fruits white. Occasional.
