Highly degraded primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest on very steep slopes and along tops of ridge composed with solid highly eroded crystalline gray marble-like limestone at elevation about 500-600 m a.s.l. Lithophytic tree 4-5 m tall on open mossy rocks. Fruits green. Common.

Secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest on sandstone hills at elevation 300-500 m a.s.l. around point 19°51’27.0’’N 105°12’46.0’’E. Climbing undershrub 1-2 m tall in open wet place along trail. Flowers greenish. Common.

Lai Chau Prov., Phong Tho Distr., Sin Suoi Ho Municipality, Sa Ma Pho village, around point 22°32’53’’N 103°33’40’’E. Secondary open evergreen broad-leaved forest and secondary woodlands on very steep mountain slopes composed predominantly with weathered granite at elev. about 1600-1800 m a.s.l. Undershrub 0.5-1 m tall on shady rocky steep slope. Flowers white, disk light yellow. Not common.

Vietnam, Quang Tri Prov., Da Krong Distr., Huc Nghi Municipality, La To Vill., along La Sam stream, around point 16º29’00’’ N, 107º00’40’’ E, 432 m a.s.l., shaly mt. Treelet, ca 7-10 m tall. Terrestrial, on slopes of secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved mixte with bamboo forest; rare.

Terrestrial herb or undershrub up to 1.5 m tall on shady rocky slope. Fruits black. Common.

Tree 20-25 m tall on open rocky cliff. Common.

Treelet 5-7 m tall among short gnarled mossy trees on mountain top. Fruits green. Common.

Climbing shrub to 2.5 m tall among secondary shrubs on wet slope along rocky stream. Fruits black. Common.

Treelet of shrub 2 m talon mountain top. Fruits dark brownish to almost black. Common.
