Primary evergreen seasonal broad-leaved and coniferous submontane forest on crystalline marble-like highly eroded limestone, very steep upper slopes and tops of limestone rocky ridge at elev. 800-850 m. Tree up to 15 m tall. Not common.

Primary evergreen seasonal broad-leaved forest on highly eroded remnant ridge composed with soft stratified limestone consolidated with numerous quartzite dikes at elev. 450-500 m a.s.l. Tree about 12 m tall on top of ridge. Occasional.

Primary coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga brevifolia on remnant highly eroded limestone ridge at elev. 1000-1200 m a.s.l. Treelets from 2 to 7 m hg (and 20 cm in diam.) on steep shady slope. Rare.

Primary mixed and coniferous evergreen humid forest with (Pinus sp., Pseudotsuga sinensis, Podocarpus neriifolius) on very steep slopes and on mountain tops composed by solid highly eroded limestone at elevation 1200-1300 m a.s.l. around point 22°45’24.8’’N 105°46’47.9’’E. Tree to 10 m tall and 12 cm DBH on mountain slopes. Very common. Usual co-dominant of coniferous forest.

Primary broad-leaved and mixed humid evergreen forest on very steep slopes and along rocky ridge composed with solid crystalline highly eroded limestone at elevation 1500-1550 m a.s.l. around point 22°50’01.3’’N 105°50’05.7’’E. Tree to 12 m tall on very steep mossy rocky slope near ridge edge and on mountain tops. Very common.

Quang Binh Prov., Minh Hoa Distr., Thuong Hoa municipality, environs of Mo O O O village, around point 17°38’00.4”N 105°55’57.9”E, Kalap Mountain. Primary mixed and coniferous forest (with Dacrydium elatum and Dacrycarpus imbricatus) on very steep rocky slope and on rocky top of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded solid crystalline limestone at elevation 750-800 m a.s.l. Tree to 35 m tall, to 60-70 cm DBH on steep shady rocky slope near to mountain top and on top. Co-dominant of coniferous forest.

Primary semideciduous open broadleaved forest on steep slopes and bluffs of remnant limestone ridge at 600-800 m alt. Epilite herb with pendant shoots up to 30 cm lg on vertical cliffs. Common.
