Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of highly eroded mountains composed by solid marble-like limestone at elev. 600-700 m a.s.l. Short creeping lithophytic fern in mossy crevices of shady vertical cliff on mountain top. Not common.

N.Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Kim Municipality, Rao Bun stream around point 18º23'39''N, 105º15'12''E. Primary coniferous closed forest with Fokienia hodginsii and Dacrydium elatum along ridge rib and on slopes near the ridge tops at elevation 1100-1200 m a.s.l. (Kho Mu mt.). Terrestrial fern on very steep shady slopes. Very common.

Nghe An Prov., Ky Son Distr., Na Ngoi Municipality, north-eastern slopes of Phu Xai Lai Leng mountain system. Primary very humid broad-leaved forest with Cunninghamia konishii as emergent on steep mountain slopes composed of gray shale at elevation 2100-2200 m a.s.l. around point 19°13’52.9’’N 104°05’30.5’’E. Terrestrial fern on very steep wet shady slope. Locally very common.

Son La Prov., Moc Chau Distr., Chieng Son comm., Pha Luong village, Pha Luong Mountain (elevation from Pha Luong village at 930 m to Mt. peak at 1860 m a.s.l.). Primary cloud evergreen broad-leaved forest on flat Pha Luong summit composed with eroded red-brown sandstone at elevation 1750-1850 m a.s.l. around point 20°40’23.0N 104°37’52.0E. Terrestrial fern in shady place near mountain top. Not rare.

Remnants of primary swamp Glyptostrobus coniferous forest along narrow flat swampy valley of small stream coming from N to the S at elevation 615 m a.s.l. Terrestrial swampy fern. Very common. Main dominant of swam forest herbaceous stratum.

Bolikhamsai prov., Thaphabat distr., Nam Bon village, Phou Khao Khouay national park, Tad Xai Waterfall, around point 18°27'25.9''N 103°08'17.5''E. Degraded primary and secondary evergreen dry forest along river on eroded sandstone at elev. About 340 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and occasionally terrestrial large herb on shady mossy boulders and river cliffs. Leaves uniform green, fruits glossy green. Rare, but locally abundant.
