On degraded limestone mountain, rocky outcrops from ca. 1200-1350 m surrounded by cultivated fields, mostly logged for valuable timber; on limestone. 20°46'18"N 104°47'45"E 1200 - 1350 m Occasional; epiphyte; up in trees to 10 m; stems to 5 m long; scales brown over pseudo bulb; outer tepals yellow with orange; more orange at base; inside labellum spotted in deep red purple; tip of rostellum dull yellow.

Creeping epiphytic and lithophytic vine 2-3 m long. Flowers yellowish, lip dark violet to almost black. Abundant.

Vietnam, Quang Binh Prov., Le Thuy Distr., Kim Thuy municipality, around Lang Ho village at 16°59′31″N 106°38′31″E. Old secondary broad-leaved closed forest on steep shale slopes of Khe Nuoc Trong River at elevation 150-200 m a.s.l. Terrestrial achlorophyllous herb on steep shady slope. Flowers light violet-brown, lip light violet with white apex, column white. Not common.
