N. Vietnam, Hoa Binh prov., Mai Chau distr., Hang Kia municipality,

near Pa Khong village, (20º44'40''N, 104º52'32''E). Primary

broad-leaved evergreen dry forest with Pinus kwangtungensis along tops

of highly eroded remnant karst limestone ridge at elev. 1300-1440 m

a.s.l. Epiphyte and lithophyte. Flowers yellow with brown stripes, lip

yellow with purple center. Unpleasant not fresh fish smelled. Not

common.

Primary broad-leaved and mixed forest (with Cunninghamia) on very steep mountain slopes on granite at elevation about 1900 m a.s.l. around point 19°13’37.5’’N 104°06’11.8’’E. Clustering epiphyte on mossy tree.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Na Po village, about 12 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Pa Nang Oua Mt., around point 18°55’44.9”N 102°20’20.1”E. Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen and semideciduous forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 500-1000 m. Creeping epiphyte and lithophyte on mossy rocks. Leaves below dull violet. Occasional.

Not common.

Vietnam, Tay Ninh Prov., Tan Bien Distr., Tan Binh Municipality, Ta Not FP Station, around point 11°37’43”N 105°52’26”E. Slightly logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest with the dominance of species of Dipterocarpaceae (Dipterocarpus dyeri, D. costatus, D. alatus, D. obtusifolius, Shorea sp.) mixed with Lagerstroemia calyculata, Irvingia malayana, Anogeissus acuminata, Sindora siamensis, Pterospermum sp., on thin soils at elevation about 13 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on boles of old trees in shady places. Flowers dull purple-violet. Locally common.

Fractionally logged primary closed broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest along La Ma River on very steep hill slopes composed with clayey shale and sandstone at elevation about 300 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall tree along rocky stream valley. Sepals dull yellowish with purple-violet punctuation. Not common.

Secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep hill and mountain slopes composed with shale. Epiphyte on tall tree along rocky stream valley. Lateral sepals yellowish marked with brown-purple, median sepal and petals deep brown-purple, lip yellow-orange. Not common.

Remnants of primary evergreen primary forest on very steep slopes and cliffs composed with solid highly eroded marble-like limestone at elevation about 600 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte and lithophyte on mossy rocky top of mountain. Locally very common. Co- and mono-dominant of herbaceous mountain top cover.
