Habenaria luceana Aver.

Vietnam, Dac Lac Prov., Buon Don Distr., Krong Na municipality, Yok Don national park, around point 13°04’13”N 107°37’57”E. Open dry semi-deciduous Dipterocarpus forest and woodlands on thin ferralite gray-brown rocky soils at elevation about 200 m a.s.l. Terrestrial tuberiferous ephemeroid herb with erect stem to 25 cm tall on rocky slope of small dry streamlet. Very rare.

Fl. et coll. in Komarov Bot. Inst. horto at 20 Nov. 2009. Flowers odorless, sepals light green, petals and lip white.

Gastrodia theana Aver., sp.nov. (Type)

Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Nam Dong Distr., Huong Son Municipality, around point 16°09'58''N, 107°36'07''E. Fractionally logged primary closed broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest along La Ma River on very steep hill slopes composed with clayey shale and sandstone at elevation 300-400 m a.s.l. Achlorophyllous light yellowish-brown ground saprophyte on very steep shady rocky stream slope. Sepals white with light pink-brownish tint, petals light pink-orange, lip brightly green with red apex, column white, anther light pink, ovary light pink-brown. Very rare.

Gastrodia tonkinensis Aver. et Averyanova, sp.nov. (type)

N.Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Hong Municipality, around point 18º34'06''N, 105º11'40''E. Heavily logged primary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on steep mt slopes and along ridge composed with shale at elev. about 350-400 m a.s.l. Small ground achlorophyllous light yellowish-brown saprophyte. Flower

buds light yellow-brownish with brown stripes. Very rare.

Phu Tho Prov., Tan Son Distr., Xuan Son Municipality, Du village, around point 21°06’57”N 104°57’17”E (Xuan Son national park). Primary broad-leaved closed wet forest on very steep rocky slopes and cliffs of low remnant mountains composed with highly eroded solid marble-like limestone at elevation 400-500 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and terrestrial tuberiferous herb on very steep rocky slope and on cliffs. Occasional.

Flowered under cultivation in August-September 2009. Flowers with light sweet fragrance, light green, anthers yellow. Coll.: L.Averyanov HAL 12681aa (epitype)
