Primary mixed mossy semideciduous open forest (with domination of Pseudotsuga brevifolia and Tsuga chinensis) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at 1350-1450 m elev. Lithophyte herb on steep slopes and vertical cliffs. Flowers of typical coloration. Very common, occasionally abundant, codominante of lithophytic herb communities. Not common in flowers.

Primary fractionaly logged coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis along highly eroded rocky limestone ridge at elevation about 1300 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic rosulate herb in shady places along ridge and on high part of mountain slope. Leaves contrastly tessellated above, dark dirty purple below. Common. Extensively collected in the area for sale to Chinese dealers.

Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest (with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and terrestrial forb on very steep rocky mossy slopes. Leaves with whitish-deep green tesselation. Locally abundant both on slopes S and N exposition. Occasional codominanthe of lithopytic forb communities.

Lithophyte. Rarely flowering, upright tepal green, lateral with red-purple striations and more solid colored at base, labellum with red-purple spots inside, staminode tip deep purple, shiny. Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed forest on very steep slopes and cliffs near tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like stratified limestone. Terrestrial rosette herb on shelves of vertical shady cliff. Leaves deep green / light green tessellated above, heavily dirty purple-violet marked below. Rare.

Vietnam, Quang Binh Prov., Minh Hoa Distr., Dan Hoa municipality, Chuong Lon mountain, Vietnam-Laotian border, about 6 km to N of Cha Lo borders station, around point 17°44′04″N 105°46′53″E. Primary broad-leaved forest on very steep slopes and rocky cliffs of remnant mountain composed with solid marble-like highly eroded limestone at elevation 400-700 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic rosulate herb on very steep slope and on shelves of vertical cliffs. Leaves dark green/whitish tessellated. Fairly common on top and around top of mountain.

Hung. 20°44'22"N 104°54'22"E 1154 m Occasional, terrestrial, leaves.

N. Vietnam, Prov. Hoa Binh, Distr. Mai Chau, subdistr. Pa Co, near 3 km to NE of Pa Co village. Primary evergreen mountain forest on the top of limestone ridge at 1200 m alt. Epilitic herb with tesselated leaves. Flowers light green with brown irregular strips, slightly pleasant smelled, tip of staminode deep brown or nearly black. Rare, but occasionally abundant.

N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Quan Ba distr., Can Ti municipality, vicinities of Sing Xuoi Ho village (N 23°04′ E 104°59′), 26.2 km to 002° of Ha Giang city. Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest (with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and terrestrial forb on very steep rocky mossy slopes. Leaves with whitish-deep green tesselation. Locally abundant both on slopes S and N exposition. Occasional codominanthe of lithopytic forb communities.

Terrestrial rosulate herb in shady palces among rocks on very steep mossy shady rocky slope. Leaves contrastly tessellated with dark and very light green. Occasional.

Lithophytic herb on vertical cliff. Leaves of transitional coloration of parental species. Very rare.

Terrestrial and lithophytic rosulate stoloniferous herb on steep rocky shady slope of N exposition. Flower buds light green. Leaves tessellated with light/dark green. Not common, but locally abundant.

Terrestrial and lithophytic rosulate herb on shady rocky slope near top of mountain. Leaves distinctly tessellated, dark dirty purple below. Locally common.
