Epiphytic and lithophytic herb. Flower tepals white-light yellowish, lip with orange center. Common.

Heavily logged primary and secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest and scrub on rocky ridge composed with solid and stratified marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone at elevation 550-650 m a.s.l.

Epiphyte (on Phyllanthus sp., Pistacia cucphuongensis, Memecylon sp., Quercus sp.) along tops of ridge. Not rare.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline stratified limestone at elevation 1550-1650 m.

Regularly leafless epiphyte on mossy tree on rocky slope. Flowers fragrant with very pleasant odor. Tepals light violet, lip dark purple-violet. Locally very common, particularly near mountain top.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest with Pinus kwangtungensis along tops of highly eroded remnant karst limestone ridge at elev. 1300-1440 m a.s.l. Epiphyte. Occasional small leaves about 2 cm lg and 1 cm wide, deep green above, light violet below. Flowers: tepals light violet, lip deep violet, column light with whitish stripes, sidelobes violet with yellow. Locally common. Anther yellow.

Epiphyte on mossy tree on mountain tops. Common.

Vientiane Prov., Kasi Distr., Thong Mout village, around point 19°26’51.5”N 102°07’45.8”E.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline stratified limestone at elevation 1550-1650 m.

Regularly leafless epiphyte on mossy tree on rocky slope. Flowers fragrant with very pleasant odor. Tepals light violet, lip dark purple-violet. Locally very common, particularly near mountain top.

Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., vicinities of Quan Ba town around point 23є02’42’’N, 104є59’35’’E. Evergreen broad-leaved forest on rocky outcrops and cliffs of remnant mesae composed with highly eroded solid marble-like limestone at elevation 1000-1100 m a.s.l. Epiphyte with numerous flat green roots adpressed to the bark. Leaves 1-2, 3-7 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, tepals including lip uniform brightly yellow, column white. Very rare.

Epiphytic herb 10-20 cm in height, flower white, lable lip light yellow on top.
