Primary swamp coniferous forest with Glyptostrobus pensilis at elevation about 570 m a.s.l.

Creeping epiphyte on Glyptostrobus. Flowers yellow, lip brown. Very common.

Short creeping epiphyte on tall mossy tree. Flowers orange. Common.

Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen and semideciduous dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of limestone highly eroded mountains composed by solid marble like limestone at elev. 1200-1400 m a.s.l.

Creeping epiphyte on tall old trees along ridge edge. Flowers yellow, lip brown. Locally abundant.

Northern Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Can Ty Municipality,

in the vicinity of Sin Suoi Ho village at right side of Mien River,

about 1 km to the N from point 23ø07'12''N, 105ø00'52''E. Primary

coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga brevifolia on remnant highly eroded

limestone ridge at elev. 1000-1200 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on Pseudotsuga.

Flowers yellow-orange, lip deep brown-violet. Common.

Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Huong Thuy Distr., Duong Hoa Municipality, Huong Thuy forest enterprise territory, around point 16°13'25''N, 107°34'09''E, rocky quartzite outcrops along Mang Chan ridge at elevation about 825 m a.s.l. Fractionally logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest along ridge tops composed with white eroded quartzite. Epiphyte on mossy trees. Flowers white, with very pleasant fragrance, lip with 4 violet spots. Not common.

Quang Binh Prov., Minh Hoa Distr., Thuong Hoa municipality, environs of Mo O O O village, around point 17°38’00.4”N 105°55’57.9”E, Kalap Mountain. Primary mixed and coniferous forest (with Dacrydium elatum and Dacrycarpus imbricatus) on very steep rocky slope and on rocky top of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded solid crystalline limestone at elevation 750-800 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall mossy trees on steep shady rocky slope near to mountain top. Flowers white, fragrant, lip white with purple marks. Very common.

Secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by solid marble like highly eroded limestone at elev. 900-1000 m a.s.l. Lithophytic creeping herb in rather open rocky mossy slope. Flowers yellowish. Not common.

Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of highly eroded mountains composed by solid marble-like limestone at elev. 600-700 m a.s.l. Creeping lithophyte on mountain top. Sepals and petals white to light yellowish with pale brown marks, lip white, column white, anther light yellowish. Locally very common.

Border area between Phieng Luong municipality (Ha Giang Prov., Bac Me Distr.) and Sinh Long municipalitiy (Tuen Quang Prov., Na Hang Distr.). Primary broad-leaved humid evergreen and mixed forest on very steep slopes and along rocky ridge composed with solid crystalline highly eroded limestone at elevation 1100-1170 m a.s.l. around point 22°38’24.3’’N 105°20’21.3’’E. Epiphytic creeping herb on mossy trees in humid place on slopes and along ridge edge. Flowers white to very light yellowish. Very common.

Borikhamxai Prov., Khamkeut Distr., Dan Khum Ngan locality, Watershed Managing Protected Authority (WMPI) region around point 17°57’32”N 105°01’05”E. Open primary broadleaved forest on thin soils and on flat granite outcrops at elevation around 538 m a.s.l. Creeping and clustering lithophyte in crevices of open granite outcrops. Locally very common.

Laos, Vientiane prov., Vang Vieng district, close vicinities of Vang Vien town, Phu Ngeum Mt., secondary degraded evergreen forest on steep rocky slopes and cliffs composed with karstic highly eroded marble-like limestone at elevation at 350-500 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte on mossy gnarled tree on mountain top. Very common.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay,

32.5 km to NE from Dalat city (N 12° 07', E 108° 41'). Very old open

secondary cloud mossy mixed forest with domination of Pinus kesiya,

Lyonia sp. and Lithocarpus sp. along ridge on NNW macroslope

of Bi Dup mt system at 1700-1800 m alt.

Epiphyte. Tepals and lip pure white, fl. bracts brightly yellow.

Not common.

Primary evergreen closed dry forest on rocky mountain slopes composed

with granite.

Epiphyte. Flowers very fragrant (Viola odorata), tepals pure white,

lip white with light lemon-yellow central keels. Not common.

Ha Giang Province, leafless epiphyte, flowers yellow with dark orange color blotches at basal half, 2 calli, the lower glabrous, bi-lobed apex callus and one above hairy callus (V shaped), at base with low callus.
