Holcoglossum amesianum (Rchb.f.) E.Christenson
Vietnam, Lai Chau Prov., Muong Te Distr. at elev. about 800-1000 m a.s.l. about 15 km to E of Muong Te town. Broad-leaved evergreen submontane forest on slopes of remnant mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline limestone. Epiphyte. Flowers odorless. Sepals white, petals white with pink-violet tint; lip pink, purple-violet at the center; column pink-violet; operculum white, with yellowish tint; ovary white or light yellowish-green; later all flower white. Leaves thick, succulent. Rare.

Vietnam, western part of Nghe An province, Pu Mat national park, 18°57’24.6’’N 104°41’04.3’’E. Humid lowland primary broad-leaved evergreen shady forest with bamboo along rocky stream at elevation 420 m a.s.l. Small pendulous epiphyte at nodes of rotten bamboo stems in wet place above the water. Flowers simultaneously opening, sepals and petals dull yellow to dull orange, lip white, lobes purple, spur, column and anther white. 20 May 2016, N.L. Orlov et al., s.n. Secondary forest on top of ridge on eroded granite soils (22ø02'31"N, 103ø58'32"E - 22ø02'57"N, 103ø58'35"E) at elev. 700-1113 m. Terrestrial herb. Stems succulent, sometimes with red, peduncle red-green, bracts red-pink, young ovary dull green, lateral tepals dull red-green with white then dull red at tip, lower lip similar, 2-lip petals forming hood over rostellum, bright white, pink at base. Rare.

broad-leaved wet submontane forest on very steep granite and quartzite
slopes of river canyon. Terrestrial creeping herb in wet place.
Flowers: lateral sepals brown-reddish with white tips and reddish
spot, median sepal brownish-red with white tip, petals like side
sepals, lip white, at base pink-brownish; column and anther white.
Leaves light uniform green. Not common.

Flowers: sepals green with brown tint, petals and lip white. Locally very common.
