Clustering epiphyte on rocky mountain top.

Primary evergreen broad-leaved and coniferous (with Dacrycarpus and Fokienia) wet forest along ridge edge composed with shale and sandstone at elevation about 900-1100 m a.s.l.

Epiphytic and lithophytic herb. Flowers dull yellow-brown. Common.

Heavily logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest along rocky streamlet valley at the base of steep slopes of mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline and partially shale limestone at elev. about 900 m a.s.l.

Epiphyte in shady place on mossy trees. Flowers dull light yellow-brown. Very common.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Nguyen Binh, municipality Ca Thanh, vicinities Ca Lu village, about 7-8 km to SE from Yen Lac village (N 22ø44' E 105ø50'), about 38 km to NWW from Cao Bang town. Old open mixed semideciduous and coniferous (with Pseudotsuga brevifolia) primary forest along tops of limestone ridge and on steep slopes near ridge tops at 1350-1450 m alt. Epilite herb on bluffy steep slopes. Flowers: tepals yellowish-green, lip pale light yellowish-brown olive. Not rare.

Primary cloud evergreen broad-leaved forest on flat Pha Luong summit composed with eroded red-brown sandstone at elevation 1750-1850 m a.s.l. around point 20°40’23.0N 104°37’52.0E.

Lithophytic clustering herb on shady mossy cliffs and boulders. Flowers dark green. Not common.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on steep mountain slopes composed with shale at elevation 1100-1250 m a.s.l. Clustering epiphyte. Very common around the mountain top.

Flowered in cultivation at July-August 2009. Flowers odorless, tepals green, lip dark green with white margin, column white, anther-cap green. All tepals toward the end of anthesis become olive-greenish, yellowish, to dull yellow-orange. Photos.

Secondary evergreen broadleaved closed forest on steep bluffs of remnant limestone ridges at 500-600 m alt. Epilite on open rock outcrops. Flowers yellowish-green with orange-brownish spot on lip center. Not rare.

Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Nam Dong Distr., Huong Son Municipality, around point 16°09'52''N, 107°36'22''E (around plot 16°09'36''N, 107°36'10''E). Heavily logged primary closed broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest along La Ma River on very steep hill slopes composed with clayey shale at elevation about 300-450 m a.s.l. Terrestrial achlorophyllous saprophyte with nearly black stems. Sepals light brownish, lip white, slightly brownish. Rare, but occasionally in large colonies.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Kontum. Evergreen primary forest at 1900-2000 m alt. on W slope of Ngoc Linh mountain system on elevation to Ngoc Gua peak. Brownish saprophyte in dry forest with Lithocarpus and Quercus sp. at 1800 m alt. Tepals light brown, lip yellow with brownish lobes, brownish below and yellow epichile hairs, gynostemium pure white. Not smelled. Very rare.
