Главная роль в формировании соляных минералов принадлежит не испарительной концентрации, а температурному режиму озер. С понижением температуры растворимость большинства солей снижается, это ведет к образованию твердых минеральных фаз. Поэтому для Г.о. характерны сезонные ритмы кристаллизации и повторного растворения солей. Расположены они преимущественно в бас. рр. Онон и Борзя (Агинск., Борзинская, Ононская и др. группы), а также в долине р. Ингода (Доронинская, Хадактинская группы).
