S. Vietnam, Kontum Prov., Kon Plong Distr., Hieu Municipality, Mang La forest enterprise (14°39'N, 108°25'E). Primary broad-leaved wet evergreen forest on sandstone at elev. 1100-1200 m. Palm-like plant up to 1 m hg on open places of steep slope. Fruit ovate about 20 cm diam. Very common.
