Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on solid rocky highly eroded limestone at elev. 1200-1450 m a.s.l. Treelet 3 m tall on mountain top. Syconia green with purplish apex. Not common.

Houphan Prov., Viengxay Distr., Xieng Luong village, around point 20°22'06.1''N 104°17'18.6''E. Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of highly eroded mountains composed by solid marble-like limestone at elev. 600-700 m a.s.l.

Tree 5-6 m tall on rocky mountain top. Syconia red. Common.

Quang Nam Prov., Dai Loc Distr., Dai Hong municipality, environs of Dai Hong town around point 15°49’19”N 107°56’58”E. Remnants of primary broadleaved evergreen forest on rocky sandy uplifted plateau composed with eroded sandstone at elev. about 500 m a.s.l.

Treelet 4-6 m tall in open swampy sandy places along small rocky stream. Syconia green with purple tint. Occasional.

Rich secondary closed broadleaved evergreen forest along rocky river valley composed with eroded sandstone at elev. 80-150 m a.s.l. Tree 6-8 m tall among open river boulders. Inflorescences light brown. Not common.

Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen and coniferous forest along tops of rocky ridges and mesae composed with light gray solid marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone. Tree 6-8 mm tall. Syconia uniformly pink-purple. Occasional.

Syconia pink with white marks. Occasional.

Undershrub about 0.5 m tall in riparian open shrubs. Occasional.

Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Nam Dong Distr., Thuong Lo Municipality, along Cha Mang stream, around point 16°07’35’’N 107°44’53’’E.

Remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest on very steep hill slopes composed with stratified shale at elev. 300-450 m a.s.l.

Treelet 5 m tall on very steep shady rocky slope. Inflorescences dirty reddish. Very common.
