Shrub 1- 2 m in height, flower violet-yellow, common.

Undershrub about 1 m tall in shady places. Flowers light pink, tepals with purple violet apex. Very common. Tuber-shaped root are used in local traditional medicine (distrophia).

Open secondary scrub after fire on flat sandy Pha Luong summit composed with eroded red-brown sandstone at elevation 1800-1850 m a.s.l. around point 20°40’23.0N 104°37’52.0E. Terrestrial herb in open sandy and rocky places. Flowers white. Very common.

Secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by solid marble like highly eroded limestone at elev. 1000-1100 m a.s.l. Herbaceous vine to 10 m long in open secondary forest. Not rare.

Herbaceous vine 3-4 m long on exposed mossy rocks near mountain top. Not common.
