Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Cao Ma Po Commune, Then Van 1 Village, Binh Mountain, around point 23.09452ºN 104.84831ºE, steep rocky slopes composed with highly eroded limestone at elevation 1400–1600 m a.s.l. Remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved very humid forest with plantation of “wild-grown” Amomum. Erect terrestrial and lithophytic herb on steep rocky slope. Not common. 4 October 2019, L. Hanoi City Area, Ba Vi District, southern prat of Ba Vi National Park, Ba Vi Mountain Range. Primary and old secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest on steep slopes composed with solid shaly limestone at elevation 900–950 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb to 0.5 m tall on steep rocky slope in rather open place. Flowers white. Very common.

Bac Kan Province, Ba Be District, Nam Mau Municipality, central part of Ba Be National Park. Rather dray evergreen broad-leaved old secondary forest with domination of Burretiodendron hsienmu and Streblus asper on crystalline highly eroded rocky limestone at elevation 600-750 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb to 0.6 m tall on exposed wet rocks in humid valley between limestone hills. Leaves dark green above, dark purple brown below. Flowers white to pale pink, flower tube white with violet tint. Locally common.

Ridsdalea vietnamensis (Tirveng.) J.T.Pereira (=Rothmannia vietnamensis Tirveng.) aff.

Bac Kan Province, Ba Be District, central part of Ba Be National Park. Dray evergreen broad-leaved old secondary forest with domination of Burretiodendron hsienmu, Streblus asper and Arenga pinnata on crystalline highly eroded rocky limestone along Ba Be River at elevation about 250 m a.s.l. Tree 15-20 m tall on rocky slope in humid valley between limestone hills. Flowers white, inside tube with pale purple marks. Fruits broadly ellipsoid to almost globular, dark green, 4–5 cm in diameter, 4.5–8 cm long, inside with black jelly and (15)20–55(65) hard stony white (but with dark brown cover) triangular flattened seeds 1.5–1.8 mm broad. Occasional.

Primary evergreen broad-leaved submontane forest on steep granite and quartzite slopes at elev. 800-880 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb with white fragrant flowers. Very common. Usual co-dominant of herb stratum.
